+What's the difference between Cloud and Perpetual?
Cloud is a $9/mo subscription that includes the plugin, the hosted AI, and updates. You don't manage anything. Perpetual is a $79 one-time purchase of the plugin alone — you bring your own AI subscription (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or local Ollama). Cloud is for editors who want to subscribe and cut. Perpetual is for editors who already pay for an AI tool and don't want to stack subscriptions.
+What does "connect your own AI" mean (Perpetual)?
Verbatim sends prompts to whichever AI you're already set up with. If you have Claude Pro, ChatGPT Plus, or a Gemini API key, Verbatim uses those for $0 extra. Setup takes about 5 minutes per provider — see the install page. If you'd rather skip that step, Cloud handles it for you.
+What happens if I hit the Cloud 100-job/month limit?
Email support@cinelore.app. We haven't met a working editor who hits it organically — that's roughly 5 interview cuts per workday. If your workload is genuinely higher, we'll figure out a fair tier with you.
+Why $79 once for Perpetual instead of always-subscription?
Editors are subscription-fatigued. If you already pay for an AI provider every month, the last thing you want is another monthly bill stacked on top. Verbatim Perpetual is a tool you own — like the plugins from Boris FX, Red Giant, and the rest. We make money when you choose to subscribe to Cloud later for convenience, not by charging rent every month.
+How does the trial work?
The 14-day free trial is on Cloud. Sign up with your email — no card required. Use the full product for 14 days. On day 15, the plugin shows a one-click subscribe banner. If you do nothing, the subscription doesn't start. Your settings, AI keys, and project data stay put — nothing to reinstall if you subscribe later. (Perpetual doesn't have a trial — it has a 14-day refund instead.)
+Can I get a refund?
Yes. For Perpetual: email support@cinelore.app within 14 days of purchase, no questions. For Cloud: cancel any time from your account — you're billed for the current month and that's it. Refunds process in 3-5 business days through Lemon Squeezy.
+What about Cutlore pricing?
We're locking it after Verbatim launches and we have real customer data. Cutlore is in private beta now — see /cutlore for what it does. Pricing announced before its public launch.
